Variables<\/em> are used to store information to be referenced and manipulated. In Canvas App we have three types of variables. Lets look into it..! \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Types of variables<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Type<\/strong><\/td>Variable<\/strong> Scope<\/strong><\/td>Description<\/strong><\/td><\/tr>
Global variable<\/strong><\/td>App<\/td>You can store (number, text string, Boolean, record, table, Etc.) value in this variable and access anywhere in your application.<\/td><\/tr>
Context variable<\/strong><\/td>Screen<\/td>You can store any value in this variable but you can make use of those variable only inside the screen. But you can pass this variable to different screen as a parameter value.<\/td><\/tr>
Collection<\/strong><\/td>App<\/td>It\u2019s a complex type variable. Using this you can store Table, JSON, Etc. kind of values in this variable.<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Variable Scope:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

All the variable values are held in memory until application runs. Once application got closed all the values will be erased.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When your application opens all the variable values were blank.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Functions:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. For Global Variable
    • Use Set<\/strong> eg: Set(Name,\u201d365Stack.in\u201d);<\/li><\/ul><\/li>
    • For Context Variable
      • Use UpdateContext<\/strong> eg: UpdateContext({Title:\u201d365Stack.in\u201d});<\/li>
      • Use Navigate <\/strong>eg:Navigate(ScreenName,Title);<\/li><\/ul><\/li>
      • For Collection
        • Use Collect<\/strong>, ClearCollect<\/strong>. Eg: Collect(EmpData,{Name:\u201d365Stack\u201d,Age:24}))<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
